GWINEAR SHOW

RECORD ENTRIES

Record entries marked the annual
show of Gwinear Agricultural Associa-
tion, held on Monday in a field lent
by the president, Mr. F. Pascoe.

In the horse section, there were
ninety-one entries, against seventy-one
for the previous year ;   ninety-eight dairy
exhibits, against seventy-seven ;   and the
cattle entries were the same at thirty-five.
High tributes to the quality shown were
paid by the judges at the official lun-
cheon.

Two new sections represented agri-
cultural machinery and foodstuffs.

The event was favoured with excel-
lent weather.

Mr. F. Hosking, Tresillian, one of the
cattle judges, said the display in his
section was a very egcellentsic one, and
worthy of any of the large shows.   Guern-
sey heifer classes, numbering eleven,
were an exceedingly nice lot ;  one or two
heifers might have had better bags but,
on the whole, they were very useful and
full of promise.   Mr. Johns’s cow won
the cow class and was an outstanding
exhibit, and Mrs. Hawkey’s Jersey bull
was worthy of mention ;   this animal would
very likely be heard of in future shows.
Mr. James had an outstanding Jersey
heifer, which would make a prominent
winner and a very excellent cow for
future years.

Mrs. T. Rundle, referring to the dairy
classes, stated that. as a local show, it
was one of the best she had ever seen.
Cream was outstanding ;   the raw cream
class, in particular, was the best of the
section, there not being a poor exhibit.
Both butter classes were good, especially
taking in consideration the weather.   She
had a great deal of difficulty, and the
first, prizewinner in the brown egg class
was of egceptionalsic size.
