Message from our President
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Village Show 2026. It is a privilege to have been asked to be President in this, the 50th year since the show was resurrected.
This is my second time of having the role, the last time was in 1998 when I was joined by my late wife, Diane. It was particularly memorable for the unfortunate fact that a deluge of rain forced the show to be delayed for two days. The show has much changed since then but the weather has not it seems, with the recent severe winds and rain that we have experienced!
This is now the third show with the more limited format and what was, in truth, an experiment two years ago has proved to be a great success with classes drawing many entries from far and wide. The show also provides a platform for local people to enjoy the tremendous skills displayed in the entries and to chat and reminisce over some refreshments.
It just remains for me to wish both competitors and visitors to the show an enjoyable day — at least these days the show is unlikely to be affected by the weather!
